There are 2 types of Microsoft Office Groove 2007 “usage”.
“out-of-the-box” , where users create workspaces in a generally ad hoc way and assemble tools they need to accomplish the team’s goals
“ enterprise integrated” which includes systems where a central server is a member of many Groove workspaces and synchronises data between Groove and other systems. Microsoft Office Groove 2007 provides four ways of developing rich solutions that extend business processes beyond traditional enterprise boundaries:-
Groove Forms
The Groove Forms tool can build simple or sophisticated collaborative applications, including data collection, tracking applications, and simple workflow solutions. There are already a number of solutions that are available through our Forms Academy.
Groove Data Bridge
This is a server component of Groove solutions It is used as an integration point between Groove client workspace applications and back-end systems. Since it is a member of each workspace it receives continuously updated copy of the workspace contents.
Groove InfoPath Forms
InfoPath uses XML data to integrate simple or sophisticated form-based solutions with back-end systems. The forms can be embedded within a workspace and then synchronised with Sharepoint.
Groove Web Services
The Groove Web Services API is a rich programmatic tool hat gives access to Groove workspaces, contact, data and services. It is standards-based (SOPA, WDSL, XSD) with interfaces built into the Groove client.
